The Phil Gramm Debating Society
Phil Gramm says we are a nation of whiners. God. He ALWAYS says that. But maybe he's right. Whine away, pro or con.
The NBA posted a photograph of Sacramento Kings forward Omri Casspi and Memphis Grizzlies center Hamed Haddadi. Casspi is the first Israeli player to play in NBA history and Haddadi is the first Iranian. Just last week Haddadi was involved in a controversy when two Clippers announcers were suspended for comments about the Memphis center that some found offensive. Casspi finished tonight's game with 15 points and three rebounds, while Haddadi did not play in the Grizzlies' 116-105 win over the Kings.
LOOK:

HOUSTON — Rob Bironas kicked a 53-yard field goal with less than a minute remaining and the Tennessee Titans beat the Houston Texans 20-17 for their fourth straight victory after an 0-6 start.
The Texans (5-5) had a chance to tie it, but Kris Brown's 49-yard attempt with 1 second remaining was wide left. It was his second miss of the game and the second straight game he's missed a chance to send the Texans to overtime.
The Titans (4-6) haven't lost since Vince Young took over at quarterback. He is 2-0 as a starter in his hometown of Houston after running for the winning touchdown in overtime in his last start as a rookie in 2006.

The state dinner dates back to 1874, when Ulysses Grant invited King David Kalakaua of the Kingdom of Hawaii to break bread with him. President Obama's first state dinner will be held for Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and has been the subject of much speculation -- Washington is abuzz with details of who will be invited. In an effort to convince the Obamas to diversify their guest list, here's a handful of encounters that may never have occurred without a state dinner.
